Seoul SK Knights will start the Cebu EASL Final Four as favorites as they try to get revenge over domestic rivals Anyang Jung Kwan Jang after coming second best both in the KBL and EASL last term.
The team from Seoul secured first place in Group B at the expense of Jeremy Lin’s New Taipei Kings, after blowing them out at the Jamsil Students' Gymnasium. They then finished the job with another win against Meralco Bolts to secure first-place and set up an all-Korean semifinal in Cebu.
There’s no doubt the home crowd will be behind Gilas star Rhenz Abando, returning after a three-month absence from action because of an injury in the KBL. After losing 2023 EASL Champions Week MVP and Lebanon international Omari Spellman, Anyang have faced a tough season and are currently second-last in the KBL.
The head-to-head favors Seoul SK Knights, who are 5-0 in the KBL against Anyang this term. It would be a great time for Yang Hee-jong and teammates to get one over their rivals, but will they be able to keep EASL top scorer Jameel Warney (37.3 ppg) quiet on the night?
