  • Team USA firm favorites to keep top spot in Group J
  • Lithuania and Greece battling for 2nd place
  • Montenegro and Vuc considered outsiders for qualification

Team USA a lock at the top of Group J

The depth and quality at Steve Kerr’s disposal, mixed with youthful enthusiasm and a team that looks all on the same page bode well for Team USA, heading into the Second Round undefeated and looking at maintaining this status in the coming two games against familiar faces Jonas Valanciunas and Nikola Vucevic.

Three teams battle over one ticket to the quarter finals

The rest of the group looks extremely balanced on paper. Greece’s advantage is having already played Team USA and potentially matching quite well with Montenegro and Lithuania. They will need to improve their offense’s fluidity as well as finding a solution to their opponents’ power in the paint. Emulating Czech Republic in 2019 will be what the Greeks aim for in this group, and building a positive point differential against Lithuania will be crucial for their chances of qualifying.
